Recommendation Letter Side-by-Side

To be honest, I am struggling on writing a recommendation for a particular person and have surveyed a number of references from the Internet and I do believe that the more you read the easier you make the letter~ 
Here are the breakdown of the letter and a various of the best examples.

In each paragraph, you should include at least one excellent characteristic and also an example for proving it.


for example

SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON OF THE LETTER


Dear Selection Committee,


Paragraph one (introduction)
In this paragraph, you should include what is the reason for writing the letter, how you know the recommended person 
  • I am writing to recommend (.name) for your program.
  • I am writing a letter on behalf of (the person's name), an international studies student at (university) who is applying for the (program).
  • I am writing this letter to give my highest possible recommendation for (name).
  • It is my pleasure to recommend (name) for admission to [name of program] at [name of university]
  • I am (name)’s co-advisor for her/his honors thesis and she has enrolled in several of my classes.
  • I came to know Jane when I was her Graduate Student Instructor for (subject) I know (name) through his work in my laboratory

Talking about intelligence
  • Overall, Jane is highly intelligent and has good analytical skills.
  • Her overall intelligence is also reflected in her grades for the course, which was by far the best in the class.
Talking About Determination/willingness
  • We outlined a scope of work to be completed, and he successfully completed that work in the time required. He put in extra hours as necessary in order to meet specific deadlines that I set. 
  • He asked good questions and appeared intelligent.  He then went to the library and found many papers on the subject and read them carefully.  He did this independently - I did not ask him to do this.
  • He also put in many long hours.  He worked as hard as my best graduate student.


Talking About Skill 

  • Students were required to .......... and to develop and argue for their own ethical views with regard to the issue in question. (Name) was the is efficient in applying the course material in analyzing the problem situations.

Teamwork Skill

Talking About Motivation
  • Not only was she interested in and motivated to learn the material, but she also put great work into assimilating it to her own experience and developing her own ideas about each ethical topic that we discussed.

Bridging 
  • If her performance in my class is a good indication of how she would perform as a graduate student, she would be an extremely positive asset to your program.
